FARMER’S FIELD SCHOOL:

The main source of livelihood in the area we are working is Agriculture and allied activities and through agriculture villagers can earn well through proper management and fallowing the right methods of agriculture but they less awareness on proper methods and management which result into low income than investment. Keeping in view the same with the support of ARAVALI and funding support of Aga Kha Foundation we initiated the farmer’s field school on WHEAT and MAIZE crop in two villages of Masuda block where two groups of 25 farmers were facilitated on using appropriate method from Sowing to selling the crop for instance how to use fertilizers, what is the right method of seed treatment, how much seed should be sowed/ hectare etc.
At the staring the responses of the farmers were not so enthusiastic but gradually they started to take interest in the activities and find it a very important learning experience for them selves. With the findings and response of the people of this FFS we are planning to conduct FFS on goat rearing also because of the high number of people rearing goat.
