Disha Shiksha Ki Aur (Direction towards education) a non-formal education initiative

Agriculture and animal husbandry are the main occupation of this area and children instead of going to school, work at field and take live stocks for grazing, hence children remains illiterate or having poor education, No. Of children out of school, dropout rate from school is also very high. Taking it into our consideration organization initiated a project named Disha Shiksha Ki Aur in 2005 with the support of Catholic Relief Services to provide qualitative and interesting education to children by informal bridge course so that children can be prepared for formal education.
The major activities of this project are operating bridge course and early child development centres, mainstreaming the children, Capacity building of teachers. Organization is also having village development committee for proper execution of these activities. total 3720 people are being benefited by the project .

Creative Education for/from Livelihood development:

GSVS initiated a project named “Creative Education for /from Livelihood Development in Rural Areas” in the June 2008 with the support of National Council of Rural Institutes & Ministry of Human Resource aiming at mainstreaming out of school children and to push out the children engaged either in child labour or households activities by creating a feasible & sustainable education environment through socio economic empowerment. The project is being operated in to 6 villages of Pisangan Block.
